Tulsa Police Arrest Man Accused Of Gas Station Armed Robbery

Tulsa Police arrested a convicted sex offender from Iowa who they say walked away from a prison there. Police say they caught him after he robbed a QuikTrip in Tulsa near I-244 and Memorial.

Officers say 35-year-old Eric Enslow robbed employees at gunpoint at the convenience store, demanding cash and cigarettes. Investigators say officers spotted Enslow running across the I-244 bridge, where he dropped the gun and was taken into custody.

Police say the money and the cigarettes were returned to the store. Enslow is listed on the Iowa Department of Corrections’ most wanted list.

“It’s a big win getting someone who isn’t afraid to commit violent crimes back into custody,” said Officer Danny Bean, Tulsa Police. “We’ll keep him there this time.”

Investigators say it did not take long to realize Enslow is wanted in Iowa for walking away from a correctional facility last month.

In 2008, records show Enslow pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual abuse to a victim under 13. In 2015, he was convicted for having meth and marijuana.

In 2017, Enslow pleaded guilty to driving under the influence. Last year, he pleaded guilty to voluntary absence from custody.

The Iowa sex offender registry lists Enlow as a tier-three offender, which requires him to check in every three months. The registry states Enlow has not been compliant in doing so.

Officers are not sure how or why Enslow ended up in Tulsa.

“This isn’t something we run into every day,” said Bean. “But we do see people from out of state that are wanted. They’re coming through, and they get caught. It happens in every state.”

Enslow is in the Tulsa County Jail for robbery and obstructing justice, among other violations. He will be kept in Tulsa until he is sent back to Iowa, where he faces even more charges.
