The opening date is getting closer for the new Zink Lake and Whitewater flume on the Arkansas River in Tulsa.

Zink Lake is starting to take shape here on the Arkansas River as city crews test the brand-new dam system and white-water flume next to the Gathering Place. Over the next few days and months, crews will let water flow through the 1,000-foot flume at different rates to fine tune the wave-shapers.

During these tests, folks might notice changing water levels and will start to see water flow through each of the flume’s pools. City officials want to remind people that these attractions are still closed as these tests take place.

The lake, flume, and new pedestrian bridge are expected to open to the public on Labor Day.
