Oklahoma State posted its first conference win of the season with a 16-10 victory over UCF Sunday at John Euliano Park.

With the win, the Cowboys improved to 12-8 overall and 1-2 in the Big 12, while the Knights are now 12-5 and 2-4 in the league.

The Pokes racked up 14 hits and homered three times in the win. Aidan Meola was 2-for-4 with a career-high five RBIs, while Colin Brueggemann had three hits and tied his career best with four RBIs.

OSU used eight pitchers in the contest, with Tommy Molsky earning the win in relief to improve to 2-0. The righty worked 1 2/3 shutout innings and struck out two.

The Cowboys jumped out to a big lead in the second inning, plating seven runs on five hits, including a pair of homers.

Kollin Ritchie was hit by a pitch to open the frame, and back-to-back RBI doubles by Brueggemann and Lane Forsythe made the score 2-0.

The Pokes doubled that lead with their first round-tripper, which came off the bat of Jaxson Crull as he drilled a pitch off the foul pole in right field.

Three batters later, Meola made the score 7-0 when he crushed a three-run bomb to left field.

UCF answered with a four-run rally of its own in the second, taking advantage of four walks by OSU pitchers.

The Cowboys put up another crooked number to extend their lead in the fourth, this time plating six runs.

Zach Ehrhard brought home the first run with a single before Meola continued his big day with a two-RBI hit of his own. The big blow in the inning came on a two-run homer by Brueggemann, his team-leading fifth blast of the season.

OSU held the 13-4 lead until the seventh when the Knights posted another four-run inning fueled by a three-run homer from Danny Neri.

The home team crept closer in the eighth, getting a pair of solo homers to cut the Cowboys' lead to 14-10, but OSU plated two more runs in the ninth to seal the win.

The Cowboys open a four-game homestand Tuesday when they host Missouri State at O'Brate Stadium prior to their Big 12 home opening series against TCU.
