The town of El Reno is hosting its largest garage sale event with more than 70 residents participating.
Shoppers and organizers said this weekend is a chance to declutter and bond with their neighbors while connecting with people from all over.
El Reno residents put out the yard sale signs this weekend in hopes of getting rid of unwanted items and of course, making some cash.
Philip Pilar is the last house on the map. She said they started Thursday and still have hundreds of items to sell.
"It's a fun way of getting rid of stuff," said El Reno resident Philip Pilar. "This guy just goes, 'How much do you want for this? Do you know what this is?' And I said yeah I do but it's a garage sale!"
Many shoppers are looking for antiques, tools or hey fresh homegrown pecans.
One resident said she's using this opportunity to help her dad sell all of his vintage items.
"He's got some of the old car parts, tire wheels and some bumpers for the old Model T's," said El Reno resident Hollye Harrell.
And it isn’t just homes that are involved. Staff at Hillcrest Learning Center donated a room full of items with several items being donated by teachers and parents
Organizers said the money raised will help with school supplies and other learning necessities.
The El Reno garage sale is going on now through Sunday, starting as early as 8 a.m.
