Description

Try Sassy Mama's home made chili lime tortilla chip recipe, the perfect chip for any tex-mex night.


Ingredients

  • 4 cups of corn oil
  • Yellow corn tortillas, cut into triangular wedges
  • 3 tablespoons of taco seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon of True Lime seasoning powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt

Instructions

  1. Heat oil: Pour corn oil into a large stockpot until it's about 1/2 inch deep. Heat it to 360 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Prep Baking Sheet: Prepare a baking sheet lined with paper towels for easy draining.
  3. Cut Tortillas: Cut the tortillas into triangular wedges by halving them and then cutting each half into thirds.
  4. Fry: Once the oil reaches 360 degrees Fahrenheit, carefully place the tortilla wedges into the hot oil and fry until they turn golden brown on all sides.
  5. Remove: Remove the fried tortilla chips from the oil and place them on the paper towel-lined baking sheet to drain any excess oil.
  6. Make seasoning: In a small bowl, combine the taco seasoning, True Lime seasoning powder, and salt.
  7. Season: Sprinkle the seasoning mixture evenly over the freshly fried tortilla chips.
  8. Cool: Allow the chips to cool completely before transferring them to an airtight container for storage.
