At least five tornadoes touched down in southwestern Oklahoma Tuesday night, with the city of Cordell receiving the brunt of the damage.

One Cordell homeowner said she was inside her home when the tornado struck, and that neighbors and members of this community came together to protect their homes.

Cordell resident Mila Corn said other residents came in the middle of the night and covered several roofs to protect them from rain.

"It was just like that... my boss has already come by," Corn said. "People are really good in this town, they really are."

Corn, who has lived in Cordell for 40 years, says she is still processing the aftermath, but is grateful for her community support.

A school in town received some damage, as did some businesses downtown, but so far there have been no reported injuries at this time.
