Putnam City's Female Wrestlers Showcase Dominance On The Mat

Through their dedication and hard work, the Putnam City High School female wrestlers are proving themselves formidable competitors with two of the top female wrestlers in the state.

News 9's Jordan Ryan took the Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages Porch to the wrestling mat to talk to State Champs Senior Alexis Ahtone.

Ahtone said eight girls compete on the team consistently throughout the year.

She competed and won a state championship this year and said it was nerve-wracking, but her teammates got her through it.

"It was just a very tough test that I had to go through, but at the end of the day, these guys got me through it with the practices and everything that we went through as a team," Ahtone said.
