The Porch Visits MetroTech Summer Camp

As many Oklahoma City metro organizations offer camps to keep children healthy and active all summer, MetroTech is giving kids a chance to dance.

Organizers behind Camp Metro say their summer activities involve many ways to keep kids healthy, including a hip hop dance class.

"We're really trying to help change the generation from sitting on their phones... and get them more engaged holistically," MetroTech director of community outreach and wellness Valerie McMurry said. "We have art, we have yoga, Pilates, we have hip hop."

McMurry said many of the children taking part have never taken a hip hop dance class before, but have come out of their shell when in the class.
