'She's Taken Advantage Of People:' Cash App Scammer Tied to Another Case In Midwest City

A woman accused of scamming people out of hundreds of dollars from their Cash App accounts in Norman and Moore is tied to another metro city.

Court papers show she pulled the same scheme in Midwest City, targeting an employee at Trifecta Smoke Shop.

Armani Leshanae Solomon, 20, was arrested last month facing felony charges. Midwest City Police say Soloman came into the shop on East Reno and asked an employee if she could borrow her phone.

At first, the store offered the business phone, but court records show Solomon said it didn’t work so the employee let her use her cell phone. Police say instead of making a call Solomon transferred $1,100 out of her bank account and $620.28 out of her Cash App account for a total of $1,720.28.

“There were a lot of victims in this story, a lot of people she hurt and victimized person after person after person,” said Toni Goforth.

Goforth says her daughter was one of them. Solomon is accused of using Goforth’s daughter’s cell phone to transfer $400 from her Cash App account into her own bank account.

“It caused a lot of trauma,” Goforth said. “My daughter has a lot of trust issues because of it.”

Police in Norman, Moore and now Midwest City have all tied Solomon to multiple cases in their cities. Investigators say Solomon used the same tactic, asking to use a cell phone because she’s having car problems. However, once she has the phone, police say that’s when she transfers the money.

 “She makes people, you know, feel sorry for her and then she takes their money,” said Tabrina Alexander.

Alexander lost $500 when Solomon allegedly scammed her when she came into her workplace in Moore earlier this year.

The latest case in Midwest City is one of the largest amounts. Solomon was arrested and faces one felony count of Obtaining Property by trick/deception or false representation.

“She's taken advantage of people,” Goforth said. “I hope she realizes the seriousness in this, and you know when it all comes down to the sentencing and everything, I hope everybody that she's victimized gets their money back and it's not even about the money at this point it's the principal it's seeing justice done.”

Solomon also faces several misdemeanor charges in Cleveland County. She is scheduled to appear in court on June 13 in Oklahoma County and July 11 in Cleveland County.
