An Oklahoma City nonprofit was able to help a mother and her children find shelter before severe weather struck on Tuesday.

The OKCity Crisis Nursery, which focuses on helping children, said their organization will do just about anything to make sure a child is safe.

Tuesday night, when a mother called saying she was living outside in a tent with her children and was scared of the storms, the OKCity Crisis Nursery answered.

"When the storm got bad she said 'I am scared, can you come get them?'" OKCity Crisis Nursery founder Jennifer Roberts said. "She stayed with us in the car for a little bit until the storm blew over. The kids came back here and we had a good night so they didn't have to stay in the tent last night."

Roberts and her team said they will help anyone in need no questions asked. From diapers, to shoes, to car seats, the organization said they will do everything in their power to get families the supplies they need when they need it.

Sometimes helping as many as 80 local families in need in one day, Roberts said she even sometimes meets new moms at the hospitals when they have no one else to turn to, and makes sure they leave with what they need.
