News 9's Sassy Mama shared her recipe for the perfect red, white, & blue treats!
Ingredients
- 1 (10 ounce bag) mini marshmallows
- 3 tablespoons butter, divided
- 5 1/4 cup Rice Krispies
- Red and white gel food coloring
- 1/2 cup white chocolate candy melts
- Red white and blue sprinkles
Instructions
- Prep: Spray a 9x13 baking pan with nonstick cooking spray. Set aside.
- Prep: Divide the mini marshmallows into 3 microwave safe bowls.
- Prep: Add 1 tablespoon butter to each bowl and microwave until melted.
- Mix: Stir blue food coloring into one bowl and red into another bowl.
- Combine: Add 1 3/4 cups Krispies to each bowl and stir to coat.
- Combine: Add spoonfuls of colored Krispies into the pan and use greased hands to gently press Krispies into pan.
- Refrigerate: Cover and allow Krispies to cool completely before cutting into squares.
- Decorate: Place the Krispies into squares and set on parchment paper approximately one inch apart.
- Decorate: Melt the candy melts in a microwave safe bowl.
- Decorate: Pour the melted white chocolate into a ziplock bag bag.
- Decorate: Snip the end and drizzle each bar with chocolate.
- Decorate: Sprinkle with red white and blue sprinkles.
- Enjoy!: Allow chocolate to harden and serve.
