A three-alarm fire sparked at an apartment complex in Tulsa Monday night, requiring a heavy response from first responders.
Andy Little with the Tulsa Fire Department said the biggest hazard at the scene is the heat, and two firefighters have been treated for heat-related illness.
"The gear is very good, it protects them from being burned, but it also traps that heat in and doesn't allow your body to breathe and naturally cool off," Little said.
Tulsa Fire said there are no reported injuries from the fire at this time. About 36 units appear to be damaged and Red Cross is on the scene helping residents find a place to stay.
TFD is focused on staying hydrated and extinguishing hot spots as the sun sets on Monday.
