Tulsa Police are investigating a homicide near 3rd and Lewis after an injured man showed up at a grocery store and later died Tuesday afternoon.
Police say the man was in a car, and someone flagged down EMSA paramedics, who happened to be at the store.
Police believe the crime happened at a house less than a mile away. Homicide detectives and crime scene investigators have been at that house all afternoon.
Police believe the victim came from the house, and someone drove him to the Warehouse Market to get help, and they saw EMSA paramedics parked there.
The paramedics called 911 Tuesday afternoon, saying the man had serious injuries.
“We’re safe here, there’s no threat to the public or anything like that. It seems like an isolated incident, and someone pulled in here trying to get help," said Officer Danny Bean with Tulsa Police.
The investigation led detectives to a house less than a mile away at 3rd and Gary. Investigators spent a lot of time going into the house and examining a van with a shattered back window.
Police say they have taken some people downtown for questioning. Police say it’s challenging when there's more than one scene.
“It starts off hard. It starts off and somewhat puts us behind when we are at a scene that isn’t the actual scene," said Bean.
Neighbors across the street tell us it’s a quiet neighborhood, except for that house. They say people are always coming and going, and the police are there often.
