'Battle Of The Burbs' Is Back For Third Season Featuring Bixby And Owasso

QuikTrip is set to host the third annual “Battle of the ‘Burbs” featuring top Oklahoma high school teams Bixby and Owasso on Friday, Aug. 30, 2024, at 7:30 p.m.

The game, previously held at the University of Tulsa, will be played at Owasso Stadium this year. Bixby will host the 2025 matchup at Spartan Stadium.

Bixby, fresh off two consecutive Class 6AI state titles and an undefeated 2023 season, returns four offensive and one defensive starter. The Spartans have dominated recent seasons with 74 wins in their last 75 games.

Owasso, led by new head coach Antonio Graham—who was the team’s defensive coordinator under the retired Bill Blankenship—returns eight starters on both sides of the ball. The Rams, with a 9-3 record and a semifinal finish last season, look to build on their strong performance.
