A Bristow convenience store owner is out nearly $20,000 after thieves smashed his window, filled two trash cans with cigarettes and stole them.

Investigators believe it’s the same two thieves who hit a Pryor convenience last week.

Kenny Cook owns Kenny's convenience store in Bristow and says a friend sent him our story from Pryor last week and when he watched it, he said “that’s the same people.” He says the thieves brought their own city of Tulsa trash cans, brought their own landscaping rock, and were in and out of the store in just minutes.

Surveillance video shows two people wearing masks, throwing a large rock through the front door of Kenny’s last Friday morning, dragging two trash cans inside and loading them full of cigarettes.

“Quick. Very quick. They knew what they were doing. It’s obvious they’ve been doing this for a long time," said Cook.

Cook says the thieves parked behind his store and pulled the two trash cans from their car.

He watched his surveillance video and tried counting how many cartons the thieves took, but he lost count at about 175.

He says when a friend sent him our story from just days earlier about a similar smash and grab burglary in Pryor, he knew it was connected.

“The same action the male takes throwing the rock through the door; I mean, it’s all the same. It’s identical. It’s the same two people," said Cook.

Bristow Police Chief Kendra Raney says while they were investigating this burglary they got calls from other agencies about the same thieves and possible suspect vehicle.

“There was video from Taco Mayo of a gray jeep, and it was obvious it was a jeep on the camera, and a gray jeep also hit our flock camera," said Raney.

Chief Raney says it’s infuriating to see small businesses hit like this.

“I try to help as much as I can in this community, and then when you get hit with something like this, you’ve still got to watch where your money is coming from and what you can help out with. I won’t stop helping this community. I love this community," said Cook.

Cook says, unfortunately, there’s nothing much he can do other than eat the $20,000 loss.

If you have any information that could help solve this case, call Bristow Police.
