A local birth doula says pre-natal yoga can provide benefits for expectant moms.
Beth Richmond has been teaching prenatal and postnatal yoga since 2017 and is one of the only yoga instructors who teaches it in the Tulsa-Metro area.
Practicing prenatal yoga can help with sleep, preparing the body for labor, and even bonding with the baby in the womb.
Coming up in the 8 o’clock hour, Richmond dropped by the Arca Continental Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages Porch to show mom-to-be Tess Maune and some of our expectant moms at home a few prenatal yoga moves that can be beneficial on their pregnancy journey.
How long have you been teaching yoga? How long have you been teaching prenatal yoga?
Our prenatal & postnatal yoga is slower paced to allow a mindful connection with movement, breath, and body. It is beginner friendly, and a great way to connect with other people.
How does prenatal yoga differ from other forms of yoga and how is it safe for mom and the baby?
I focus on mobility, strength & rest, to support throughout pregnancy, birth & postpartum.
What are the benefits of prenatal yoga?
Tulsa Prenatal Yoga currently has class every Saturday at 9:30 am. We also offer a Restorative Prenatal Partner Yoga class a few times per year.
