The Porch Visits Norman's Lakeview Elementary For First Day Of School

With students in Norman in the classroom for the first day of the 2024-25 academic year, teachers are ready to begin learning with their new students.

At Lakeview Elementary in Norman, the Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages Porch stopped by to see how students, parents and school faculty are adapting to the big day.

Lakeview Elementary Paula Palermo said the first day of school is her favorite day of the year.

"We've been getting ready, and we're excited for the school year," Palermo said. "We have a wonderful community here. We're a country field school, and a lot of parents are involved. I think that the favorite thing I have are enrichment activities for all of our students."
