A man is in custody and three people are hospitalized after police said he fired shots into a crowded Bricktown intersection Sunday morning.
Oklahoma City Police Officers responded to gunshots near the intersection of Sheridan and Oklahoma Avenue just before 2 a.m.
Officers in the area said they heard gunshots and saw a large crowd gathered in the intersection, according to Capt. Valerie Littlejohn with Oklahoma City Police.
Police said responding officers saw the suspect shooting and pursued him. He allegedly turned toward the officer with his gun which caused OCPD officers to shoot at him.
Police said the suspect was not hit and he ran from the scene, dropping his weapon.
He was chased for a few blocks before being arrested.
Three people were injured by the suspect's gunfire, police said. They were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The suspect was taken into custody and the two officers who fired their guns have been placed on administrative leave, pending an investigation.
Authorities have not yet determined the cause of the shooting, and it is unclear where the crowd had originated.
