In the Democratic runoff for District 2 Tulsa County Commissioner, Sarah Gray has emerged victorious. While not all precincts have reported, Gray holds a nearly 20-point lead over her opponent, Maria Barnes.

Gray celebrated her win at a watch party she co-hosted with City Councilor Laura Bellis, who also secured a victory in her race.

Gray expressed her determination to continue her campaign efforts leading up to the November general election.

"There’s no better way to show a voter respect than to take the time out of your day to go to their door, knock on it, and ask them, ‘What do you care about?’" Gray said. "That’s what we’ve done throughout this entire campaign, and it’s truly one of my favorite parts about campaigning."

Gray has focused her campaign on issues such as affordable housing and solutions for homelessness. Current polls suggest she will likely face Republican candidate Lonnie Sims in November.
