You can't beat a big buck in velvet.
Josh Smith shared a picture from Pittsburg County where the lighting was perfect, making the velvet look like it was glowing.
The velvet is there to help with blood flow and nutrients while the antlers grow from spring through summer. In a few weeks, once the antlers reach their full size, the velvet is no longer needed and will begin to naturally shed.
