A trooper with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol had their hands full last week helping a woman wrangle a chicken that had gotten loose on I-44.

According to OHP, a truck with a makeshift trailer was losing chickens along westbound and eastbound I-44 and they were scattered across the roadway from 165th E. Ave. to 145th E. Ave. OHP said Trooper Carlos Zavala saw a woman trying to corral a chicken using the concrete barrier so he stopped by to help the chicken that had crossed the road.

"Thanks to his quick thinking and a little patience, all the feathery fugitives were safely wrangled and off the road in no time," said OHP in a Facebook post.
