The Bristow Education Foundation has announced it awarded $40,000 in grants to teachers in the Bristow Public Schools district this year, marking the largest amount of funding the organization has distributed to educators in its history.
Through its Teacher Grant Program, the foundation invites educators to apply for funding, which is then evaluated based on needs and available resources.
The yearly grants aim to help teachers engage students in innovative ways, providing crucial support for classroom equipment, supplies, and technology.
Foundation President Zeddie Cantrell emphasized the significant impact of these grants. “When they apply for grants, it also lets the administration know there may be a need they weren’t even aware of,” Cantrell said. “They may find other ways they can fund things that we’re not able to fund because of our stipulations for our grant money.”
In addition to supporting teachers, the Bristow Education Foundation also encourages community contributions to its scholarship fund for graduating high school seniors.
Scholarships range from $1,000 to $12,000, providing vital financial assistance to students pursuing higher education.
