For the first time since 2005, Mike Gundy's first season as head coach in Stillwater, the Oklahoma State Cowboys are off to a 0-2 start in the Big 12.
The Cowboys are still searching for their first conference win of the 2024 season after Saturday's 42-20 loss at Kansas State.
The Pokes jumped out to a 10-7 lead in 2nd quarter thanks to De’Zhaun Stribling’s 77-yard touchdown pass from Alan Bowman. It marked the longest catch of Stribling’s career and was just shy of Talyn Shettron’s 78-yard touchdown against Tulsa for OSU’s longest-scoring play of the season.
Stribling finished the game with seven catches for 157 yards and a touchdown. He's the first Cowboy to have multiple games of 150+ receiving yards in the team’s first five contests since Justin Blackmon during the 2010 season.
The OSU defense had no answer for Kansas State quarterback Avery Johnson. Johnson finished with 259 yards passing, 60 rushing yards and five touchdowns.
Following the game, head coach Mike Gundy met with the media to break down the loss to the Wildcats.
