Tulsa County is one of 31 in the state currently under a burn ban.

Chief Meteorologist Travis Meyer said since Sept. 1st, there has been less than a half-inch of rain in Tulsa.

The burn ban comes after persistent drought in the region leading to dry conditions.

Outdoor burning, including controlled burns, bonfires, fire pits, and chimineas is prohibited. Grilling and welding over a non-flammable surface are permitted.

The burn ban will remain in effect until noon on Oct. 28.
