With Halloween just a week away, 'tis the season for scares.
Getting lost in a corn maze is a typical fall activity, but at Insanity Farms it gets really scary, really quick.
"It is definitely a scary attraction," said co-owner Phillip Basse. "Something you will not see in Pumpkin Town."
He and his family run the pumpkin patch by day and Insanity Farms by night.
"It is definitely a good starter for a kid to kind of get into the haunted attractions," Basse continued saying, "We have different levels of scares."
The Field of Fear, Chaos Pallet Maze, and Zombie Paintball make up Insanity Farms.
"It is the only haunted corn maze in Tulsa, actually really in Northeast Oklahoma," Basse said. "Nobody has the zombie paintball like we have, and the pallet maze is unique too because we built it ourselves."
That work begins long before spooky season.
"It is like a production, almost like a play," said Basse. "We start looking for actors in August and we build the corn maze from July all the way up to now."
It is his and the 50 actors that haunt the ground's favorite time of the year.
"You scare the guests, they jump back, and then they laugh so really it is scary but at the same time having fun," said Basse.
A hauntingly good time … if you can make it out alive.
Insanity Farms is $30 and gives you access to all three attractions. They also offer a $20 discount if you buy four passes.
The haunted attraction is open every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday through Halloween.
