Historic Church Studio Hosts Annual Trick Or Tour Event On Halloween

The Church Studio, located in Tulsa’s Pearl District, will host its third annual Trick or Tour event on Halloween. This free event invites participants to come in costume for a guided tour of the historic venue.

Originally built as a church in 1915, the studio was transformed into a recording space by musician Leon Russell in 1972. Over the years, many musical icons have recorded there, including The Gap Band, who released their debut album, "Magicians Holiday", recorded at the studio.

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of "Magicians Holiday", the Church Studio will also recognize November 2 as Gap Band Day, with a proclamation from G.T. Bynum.

The Trick or Tour event will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Halloween. Guests of all ages are welcome, and no registration is required to participate.

Participants are encouraged to dress as their favorite musicians or artists, but costumes are not limited to Leon Russell.

Attendees can look forward to treats, music, and a chance to see the studio's extensive 5,000-piece memorabilia archive.
