For the third year in a row, the Jenks Chamber of Commerce is bringing trick-or-treating to Main Street.

It kind of gives that small-town, hometown feel, said Chamber President & CEO Angie Duntz.

Several of the local businesses join in by decorating their shops and handing out treats.

The Bridges Mercantile said it would be giving away some of its homemade popcorn. We did 500 bags of popcorn last year, and we bumped it up to 800 this year, so we are expecting a lot of people to show up, said Kristin Horn.

The popcorn, like many of the items in the store, is made by clients of The Bridges Foundation. The nonprofit employs teens and adults with special needs.

We give them retail experience, and packaging experience, and we also manufacture in our main facility in Jenks, said Kristen Freimuth.

With more than 2,000 people expected to attend Trick or Treat on Main, the event brings exposure to local businesses like the Mercantile.

"This is a great way for businesses to really connect with the community and have some fun while doing it, Duntz said.

That connection is hoping to bridge the gap to inclusion.

I have a son with Down syndrome, and he just loves to see all of the people, Horn said.

Trick or Treat on Main is from 4-6 p.m. in downtown Jenks.

Other free Halloween events in Green Country include:

Halloween at the Will Rogers Memorial Museum in Claremore from 6-8 p.m., Halloween Festival at Lacy Park Community Center from 6:30-8 p.m., and Trunk or Treat at Fellowship Bible Church of Tulsa from 6-8 p.m.
