Oklahomans are closely watching Democrats on election night, and News on 6’s Erin Conrad is at the Greenwood Cultural Center covering the action.

Organizers at the Greenwood Cultural Center are setting up for the Harris/Walz watch party, which begins at 7 p.m.

Tulsa Democrats expect around 200 people to gather, celebrating Oklahoma Democrats and watching the Presidential election results come in.

"Lots of stress, running around, and making sure that we get, you know, lots of voters to the polls," said Michelle McCane with the Tulsa Democratic Party. "But lots and lots of excitement. We actually extended our watch party because there was just so much interest. I've gotten, like, texts and messages nonstop. Our volunteers have been at the office answering calls, so lots of excitement, lots of activity, lots of work going on. But the excitement is really the other thing. I mean, every group chat that I'm in is, like, the lines are long at the polls. We’re really excited about the turnout, and so we're feeling really optimistic about things."

The party says this year has been notable in terms of voter interest, with some registered Republicans calling to say they are voting across party lines for Harris, the mayoral candidate, and others.

Democrats in Tulsa County and Oklahoma say they are feeling more momentum than in recent years.
