The Oklahoma Department of Transportation crews are working to clear major thoroughfares across the state, the state agency announced.
ODOT said roads across the state have become slick and hazardous due to wintry precipitation, and are being plowed and treated to ensure driver safety.
ODOT also said crews with the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority are working to plow and treat the H.E. Bailey Turnpike, Chickasaw Turnpike, and Indian Nation Turnpike; OTA crews are also treating slick spots along the John Kilpatrick Turnpike, Kickapoo Turnpike and Turner Turnpike.
In the Oklahoma City metro, ODOT said crews are plowing and treating highways and interstates, but asks drivers to avoid travel if possible or slow down.
ODOT said real-time road conditions and photos from the plow trucks can be viewed at okroads.org or from the free Drive Oklahoma app.
