Fire destroys home, vehicles in SW Oklahoma City

An early morning house fire in southwest Oklahoma City has left a family without their home and cars.

The fire started around 5:30 a.m. near Southwest 44th and Czech Hall Road, according to OKC Fire.

Firefighters say the couple living in the home was using a pellet stove for heat.

They believe ash or embers from the stove were carried up into a window, sparking the fire.

The couple made it out of the home safely.
