Several Oklahoma City Restaurants to close in early 2025

Multiple Oklahoma restaurants announce their permanent closures after years of serving the community.

Multiple popular Oklahoma eateries will soon close their doors after serving the community for years, marking the end of an era for local dining.

Pepperoni Grill

After more than 30 years, Pepperoni Grill has officially closed its location at Penn Square Mall. The restaurant closed on May 12, 2025, and did not give details on why the location closed.

According to the restaurant, its other two locations remain open. Customers can still visit Pepperoni Grill at 5620 West Memorial Road in Oklahoma City and 1000 West Covell Road in Edmond.

In a statement, Pepperoni Grill said,

“Yes, it's true. We officially closed our Penn Square location on Monday. We had an amazing run there for over 30 years, and we’re incredibly grateful for the support from the community throughout that time.”

Broke Brewing Company

Broke Brewing Company, located at 3810 N. Tulsa Ave in Oklahoma City, opened its doors over 5 years ago with a 'Go for Broke' mindset and a chill spot for some brews.

They announced May 6 that they will unfortunately be closing their doors, pending on the sale of the rest of their batches. Head down to Broke Brewing Company for a pint and a sendoff.

On The Border Mexican Grill & Cantina

The Northwest Expressway location of On The Border Mexican Grill & Cantina, part of the Tex-Mex-style restaurant chain, closed its doors on Feb. 25.

The restaurant, located near Lake Hefner Parkway, gave no notice of its closure, and the location is no longer listed on the main On The Border website location tracker.

Syrup.

Syrup., a beloved breakfast spot with locations in Oklahoma City and Norman, will close permanently on Monday, Jan 20. The restaurant has been part of Oklahoma's dining scene for 13 years.

In a heartfelt social media post, Syrup expressed their gratitude for the community’s support:

"It is with heavy hearts that we make this announcement: After 13 years of Syrup opening its doors to Norman and 7 years to OKC, we will be closing permanently on Monday, January 20th. We have loved and immensely appreciated the support over the years. It has been our highest honor to serve delicious brunch to our communities and we have had hands-down the best staff. Thank you for sharing your special moments at our tables over breakfast and a cup of coffee. We have truly treasured your time spent in our little spaces over the years. We will miss you terribly.
Come have a delicious meal with us over the holiday weekend for one last hurrah! If you know anyone interested in purchasing a mom & pop shop, don’t hesitate to reach out!"

The Drake

The Drake, a seafood restaurant that has been a staple in Oklahoma City for a decade, announced it will close on February 1st.

In a social media post, The Drake expressed appreciation for their loyal customers and the local community:

We want to express our deepest appreciation to everyone who has been a part of the Drake's incredible 10-year journey. We've made the difficult decision to serve our last dinner on Saturday, February 1st.
From our passionate team members to our loyal guests and the vibrant Oklahoma City community, your support and shared love of seafood have defined the spirit of this restaurant.
As we close this chapter on the Drake's story, we are thankful for the countless warm memories created within these last 10 years.
