For Tuesday's Daily Dose, a viewer wants to know if drinking coffee in the morning is good for you.

Dr. Lacy Anderson said several studies have shown that drinking coffee can boost energy levels, support brain health as well as reduce the risk of diabetes.

However, Anderson also said a recent study from Tulane University showed that people who drink coffee in the morning have a lower risk of dying from cardiovascular disease compared to those who drink coffee throughout the day.

In the study, Anderson said morning coffee drinkers were 31% less likely to die from cardiovascular disease and had a 16% reduced risk of death for all causes.

There have been several other studies showing that drinking coffee can help counteract some of the harmful effects of living a sedentary lifestyle and improve vascular health.

However, people who drink coffee all day long do not show these benefits, so it seems to be best to drink your coffee in the morning.

Additionally, late coffee drinking may disturb sleeping and affect circadian rhythms, which may account for the lack of benefits of all-day coffee drinking.
