Former Sooner and current Atlanta Hawks guard Trae Young has been named as an injury replacement for Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo in the 2025 NBA All-Star Game, the NBA announced on Monday.

Young, who grew up in Norman and is now a four-time NBA All-Star, will join Team Chuck after being named by NBA Commissioner Adam Silver to replace injured Antetokounmpo, selected by TNT analyst Charles Barkley, the team’s general manager.

Antetokounmpo, a nine-time All-Star, will miss the game due to a left calf strain.

The Hawks guard is averaging 23.5 points and an NBA-leading 11.4 assists per game in 49 appearances this season.

The 74th NBA All-Star Game is set for Sunday, Feb. 16, at Chase Center in San Francisco.

This year’s event will feature a new format, consisting of a four-team, three-game mini-tournament.

The game will air live on TNT at 7 p.m. CT.
