OKC highway traffic slows as drivers face frozen roadways

As drivers across Oklahoma face frozen-over roadways, many are taking precautions to avoid wrecking.

News 9 Stormtracker Hank Brown reported traffic had slowed significantly, even along Interstate 44 in northwest Oklahoma City.

"Any street that has not been treated is an absolute polished glaze of ice, it is extremely treacherous," Brown said.

Brown also said it can be difficult to distinguish when a road is iced over, so drivers should assume every road surface is covered in ice as a precaution.
