Dale Rogers Training Center is offering classes to help educate people about what to do during an encounter with law enforcement.
The vocational training nonprofit and employment center will offer two forms of study for the training, with a virtual option that offers a meeting once a week for ten weeks, or an independent study option that provides three months of individual access to training resources.
According to DRTC, the classes are designed with intellectual or developmental disabilities in mind.
DRTC said the program will help students learn several aspects of being around police officers:
DRTTC says students will also learn about Safety Disclosure Cards, which people with disabilities use to help make encounters with police smoother by identifying their disability.
