Several structures burned in a Logan Co. fire on Monday, according to a landowner.

The fire broke out on South Indian Meridian Road and East Charter Oak Lane

Multiple crews responded, including firefighters from Lincoln County, Richland Fire Rescue, Tryon and the City of Stroud.

One landowner who declined to speak on camera said he has lived on the property that caught fire for 20 years.

He added that it was mostly cedar trees that burned, but he also lost a barn and other outdoor structures. He said he expects to find more damage when it is safe to return.

The landowner said he saved his animals from the fire.

Logan Co. Emergency Management told News 9 that the fire is no longer a threat to the public.

“Just continue to monitor the weather and emergency alerts that go out in case anything changes,” said Logan Co. Emergency Management.

Tuesday is expected to be another hot and windy day, so it’s important to stay weather-aware.
