What Happened

An 18-year-old woman is in custody after admitting to intentionally running over 16-year-old Tamireyahna Warren on Friday night in northeast Oklahoma City near NE 8th and Martin Luther King Avenue.

Witnesses say the suspect, identified as Quimariauna Neal, drove through multiple fences before hitting Warren and fleeing the scene. Friends and neighbors believe the incident was gang-related, although police have not confirmed that.

“It’s just so hard to believe that she’s actually gone,” said Jaylynn Swyden, a friend of the victim.

Michael Todd, a neighbor, recalled overhearing heated conversations between groups of girls earlier that day.

“I was in the backyard working, and I heard conversations among the different groups of girls about who is the toughest and all this kind of unnecessary stuff, ” Todd said.

Neal was later arrested by Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers and brought to OCPD headquarters, where she admitted to running over Warren with the intent to hurt her, according to the arrest affidavit.

Neal is currently being held in the Oklahoma County Detention Center on a first-degree murder complaint, with her bond denied.
