Edmond Earthquake Friday morning: timing and magnitude

Edmond was rocked by two earthquakes early Friday morning, although no damage has been reported.

Edmond residents experienced two separate earthquakes early Friday morning, according to the US Geological Service.

The USGS reports the epicenter for the two quakes as occurring near North Midwest Boulevard and East Covell Road at around 4:04 a.m. and 4:10 a.m.

The first earthquake, measured as a 2.9 magnitude, happened at a depth of around 6.6 km below the surface.

The second earthquake was a 2.8 magnitude at around 6.7 km underground.

It is unknown if any damage has been reported at this time.
