A head-on collision in Woodward County left one man dead and several others injured Saturday evening, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
Troopers say the crash happened just before 7 p.m. near East County Road 31 and South County Road 207, approximately eight miles north and 3.5 miles east of Woodward.
OHP said that Rylee Geddes, 41, was driving eastbound when he collided head-on with a westbound 2002 Chevy Silverado driven by Brandon Miller. OHP said Geddes was pronounced dead at the scene by the medical examiner.
A 14-year-old female passenger in Geddes' vehicle was seriously injured and flown to OU Children’s Hospital in Oklahoma City with head, neck, and internal injuries, according to OHP.
OHP says Miller was treated and released from Integris Health Woodward Hospital, while their passenger was taken to an Oklahoma City hospital with internal and lower body injuries.
Troopers say both vehicles crossed the center line and collided front-corner to front-corner. The cause of the crash remains under investigation, including the conditions of both drivers at the time of the collision.
According to OHP, no occupants in either vehicle were wearing seatbelts. Both drivers were pinned and had to be extricated by the Woodward Fire Department.
