The Oklahoma State Department of Health reported Friday a Walmart Supercenter in Sallisaw may have been exposed to a confirmed case of measles.
OSDH says the person was contagious when they went to the store at 1101 W. Ruth Ave. on April 18 from 7-10 p.m. OSDH is asking unvaccinated individuals who visited the store during that timeframe to provide the agency with their name and contact information for further guidance. You can make a report online confidentially.
Oklahoma now has 15 total cases of measles, with 12 confirmed and three probable cases, according to OSDH’s measles website. OSDH states 14 of the 15 cases were from unvaccinated individuals; the remaining individual was vaccinated with 2 or more doses.
OSDH reports four Oklahoma counties have now been exposed to measles, namely Cleveland, Custer, Oklahoma and Sequoyah counties.
OSDH provides online case updates on measles cases in the state every Tuesday and Friday.
