Some professional BMX athletes talked up the sport during a Q&A and autograph session at Tulsa's Edison High School on Wednesday.

USA BMX is based in Tulsa, where pro athletes and Olympic hopefuls train at the Hardesty National BMX Stadium. Last year, Edison created Tulsa's first high school BMX team, and now teams have formed at Booker T., Memorial, and Sand Springs.

Carter Thomason, an 8th grader at Edison, said, "It's super fun to see that schools are finally getting their own BMX teams."

The Edison BMX team accepts riders from any school to train with them.

Nine professional riders, including an Olympic hopeful, were at the Edison event, where more than 300 students attended the meet and greet.
