Window washing drone deployed at Hillcrest South

A routine window washing cycle at Hillcrest South in Tulsa is being handled partly by a drone. A company that deploys a drone, in addition to men with poles and sprayers from the ground, is cleaning windows on the 6-story hospital.

Parker Eakin, with Oklahoma Drone Technologies, believes he is using the only window-washing drone in the state.

Eakin said the device can cover 350 square feet a minute in ideal conditions, and using it is safer than having someone rappel down the side of buildings. He also said it costs less for his customers.

The drone was in use on the upper floors of the hospital to spray the windows on Monday as part of a job to clean the exterior of the building.
