A man is in custody following an alleged domestic assault near South Quaker Avenue and East 68th Street. That's near Peoria and Riverside.

Tulsa Police say they responded to a call just after 2 p.m., where a woman claimed her boyfriend had assaulted her and left the scene.

Officers say they spotted the vehicle in the area and conducted a traffic stop. Police say the suspect then ran away and jumped fences to evade officers.

Officers then set up a perimeter in the area, called in K9 units, and deployed a helicopter to assist in the search.

Police say they learned that the suspect had kicked the door open of a house and gone inside, where the resident was at home. They say the suspect stated that he would not leave the house.

Eventually, the suspect came outside and was taken into custody by officers.

He was booked on a probation violation, first degree burglary and kidnapping charges.

Tulsa Police did not release the man's name.
