The Greenwood Beat - WFPG will host a special Juneteenth Poetry Showcase on Thursday, June 19, featuring poets and spoken word artists from across the globe.

The showcase is scheduled to begin at noon and will be hosted by Antonio McGlothin, Sr. Some artists will perform live in-studio, while others will contribute virtually.

Amplifying Voices, Honoring History

Organizers say the Juneteenth Poetry Showcase is meant to uplift voices that have historically been silenced. The Greenwood Beat – WFPG calls itself "The Voice of Greenwood," and its mission is to tell authentic stories, build community, and continue the legacy of Black Wall Street through music and media.

Through poetry and spoken word, performers will speak on personal and cultural themes, offering reflections on freedom, resilience, and unity.
