Route 66 Marathon to unveil final finisher medal in Icon Series

Organizers with the Williams Route 66 Marathon are set to unveil this year’s finisher medal during a special event on Wednesday, June 25, at 10:30 a.m. at the Blue Whale of Catoosa.

The medal marks the final installment in the marathon’s five-year Route 66 Icon series. It will join the ranks of four other medals released in previous years, each featuring a different roadside attraction.

Since launching the Icon series, the marathon has highlighted beloved Oklahoma landmarks, turning each year's medal into a collector’s item for runners and Route 66 enthusiasts alike.

Past medals have included tributes to the Golden Driller and the Meadow Gold sign.

Race Weekend Set for November

The 2025 Williams Route 66 Marathon events are scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 22 and Sunday, Nov. 23.

1. The one-mile fun run and 5K races take place on Saturday, Nov. 22.
2. The half marathon and full marathon will be held on Sunday, Nov. 23.

Thousands of runners are expected to descend on Tulsa for the annual event, which continues to attract both elite athletes and recreational participants.
