Good police work and a few breaks led Sapulpa Police to catch a crook and convict a jewelry thief.

A Creek County jury found Cedric Norris guilty of stealing diamonds from a Sapulpa jewelry store. In February 2005, Norris took diamonds from the store. Days later three jewelry stores in East Texas were also hit, but witnesses got a tag number. And a few days after that, police say Norris reported his car stolen in the Oklahoma City area and his tag matched the tag of the getaway vehicle.

Sapulpa Police Sgt. Fred Clark: “He goes to the Del City Police Department and reports it stolen. When they enter the tag number as stolen it hits out of Texas as a wanted vehicle and a wanted subject."

Norris was tied to the Creek County crimes by a palm print and DNA evidence on a cigarette butt.
