OKLAHOMA CITY -- NEWS 9 Sports Director Dean Blevins has been released from OU Medical Center Intensive Care Unit after a fall on ice outside his house on Monday.
He recalled the event that left him hospitalized with several staples in his head.
"I'm literally passed out unconscious on the driveway full of ice," Dean Blevins said. "I started to slip and flew basically into the driveway and wasn't going to stay afloat very long."
Blevins said he was trying to get in his car.
"I had the door open and that's when I slipped and fell," Blevins said.
Dean said the experience has given him a new perspective.
"Have faith and realize it could be gone in a flash," Blevins said.
Paramedics advise people to carry cell phones if they go outside in case of an emergency.
Blevins was evaluated and treated for a subdural hematoma injury to his brain. He said doctors have told him to, "rest, rest, rest".
News 9 Sports Director Dean Blevins said it will be a while before you see him on air again.
