Family members say a woman pulled from her burning home Tuesday is worried she may have lost someone very important to her.
The woman's daughter said her mother is worried about her Schnauzer, who has been lost since the fire that landed her in intensive care.
Firefighters told the family they didn't find any animal remains in or around the house, so they figure the dog ran off.
The schnauzer is 3 to 4 years old and answers to the name "Smokey." She wears a pink collar with rhinestones.
The family has asked anyone who finds the dog to take her to PetSmart at 10117 East 71st Street, because the staff there has a history of treating the dog and they know how to locate the owner.
The woman's daughter said her mother has been through a lot in the last 24 hours and locating her dog would really make her feel better.
