Flood Warning Issued For Multiple Oklahoma Counties

The National Weather Service in Tulsa has issued a flood warning Cherokee, McIntosh, Muskogee and Wagoner Counties in Oklahoma until 9:00 a.m. Tuesday.

Reports say that at just before 9:00 Monday evening, radar indicated heavy rain had ended across the warned areas. It says while no additional rainfall is expected, two to five inches had already fallen and flooding of low lying areas will likely continue, especially in areas of Fort Gibson and Warner.

A slow-moving storm system is making its way across Green Country this week with chances of scattered showers for the next several days.

"Frequent cloud-to-ground lightning would be possible this afternoon and early evening with any stronger cells," News On 6 WARN Team Meteorologist Alan Crone said Monday.

We received 1.41 inches of rainfall Sunday at the Tulsa International Airport. Skiatook reported over 2 inches. Oklahoma is still 8.33 behind the normal precipitation for the year.

Reports say Tulsa International Airport, Keystone State Park, Walnut Creek State Park, Collinsville, Skiatook, Sperry, Owasso Sand Springs Gray and Tulsa are all areas that will continue to be affected by heavy rain.
