It's the end of an era for shoppers at Utica Square. Demolition crews started bringing down Miss Jackson's and Petty's Fine Foods overnight to make way for a new development.
Crews rolled in Saturday night to bring down the two iconic Tulsa stores at Utica Square. People who grew up shopping at the two stores can't believe they're gone.
"It's just really sad; I just can't imagine Tulsa without them," said Frances Fuller, spectator. "They're just iconic parts of Tulsa."
Crews started with Petty's and will continue with Miss Jackson's.
Kyle Engles said he's lived in Tulsa all his life and spent many a time walking around Utica Square.
"Just checking everything out, shopping and doing all kinds of different things," he said. "To see this go is just mind bending."
But Engles doesn't see it as a bad thing.
"This is Tulsa - this is the town I love," he said. "There's nothing better than seeing new stuff going in and old stuff coming down."
It's still unknown what's going to go in the place of these, but there is a lot of speculation. Some say it will be a Nordstrom.
